Step-4 Identify Question Goals

  • Next, to identify Question Goals, the following question is asked: “what would the decision maker(s) need to know during the decision processes?”
  • Each Decision Goal thus leads to one or more Question Goals, each of which can be further refined into more detailed Question Goals.
  • At the most detailed level of refinement, each Question Goal represents a set of requirements covering a certain aspect of the analytics or machine learning solution.

  • The following 2 figures below build upon the previous step and uses the same example of the Physician and Patient Actors in a hospital setting. These figures illustrate Partial Business View models showing elicitation of Question Goals based on the identification of Decision Goals from the previous step for Physician (A) and Patient with Chronic Disease (B).
